What we collect
Account details (email, display name, and date of birth for age protection); the channels and videos you create; and your activity — videos you watch and your watch history, searches you make, and engagement such as views, likes, subscriptions, watch progress, quiz results, and AI Tutor questions. We also collect technical and device data (IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser/device type, and logs), and your interactions with any ads. Cookies and similar technologies support all of this.
How we use it
To operate and improve the platform: authenticate you, stream and recommend videos, build your knowledge map from what you watch and the quizzes you take, screen uploads for safety, measure performance and (where applicable) advertising, communicate with you, and detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security risks, and technical issues. We do not sell your personal data.
AI processing
Uploaded videos are analyzed by AI (Google Vertex AI / Gemini) to generate transcripts, summaries, chapters, and quizzes, and to screen for educational value, age-rating, and copyright risk. Audio may also be checked against a music-fingerprint database. This happens automatically as part of moderation.
Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies, local/browser storage, pixels, and server logs. Essential ones run the service (sign-in sessions, preferences) and cannot be turned off. With your consent we may use analytics or advertising cookies, which you can manage from the cookie banner or your browser settings; some features may not work properly without certain cookies.
Advertising
EduXFlow is free and may be supported by advertising. We do not run behavioral/targeted ads to users we know to be under 18 — they receive only contextual ads (based on the video, not their profile), determined from the account date of birth. We never personalize ads using sensitive categories such as race, religion, health, or sexual orientation, and we do not share personally identifying information with advertisers unless you ask us to. Where ad personalization is offered, you can manage your preferences in your account settings.
Children & minors
Registration requires a minimum age, and content is age-gated by verified date of birth. For users under the applicable age of digital consent, we limit data use and disable behavioral advertising, consistent with COPPA (US) and GDPR-K (EU). If you believe a child has provided us data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Who we share with
We share data only with processors needed to run EduXFlow: Bunny (video hosting/streaming), Google Cloud (Vertex AI analysis, Cloud Storage for uploads under review), Neon (database), Upstash (queues), ACRCloud (copyright fingerprinting, when enabled), and Resend (email). Each processes data only on our instructions. We may also disclose information to comply with the law, a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of EduXFlow, our users, or the public.
Data retention
Raw uploads are held in temporary storage only during review and are deleted once a video is approved (after it is on the streaming network) or rejected. Published videos and account data are kept until you delete them; some activity data is deleted or anonymized automatically after a set period. Deleting your account removes your account, channel, videos (including from storage), transcripts, and associated data — immediately and irreversibly.
Your rights & controls
You can access, correct, or delete your data from Settings, and request a copy (export) of your data by contacting us. You can manage interests, subscriptions, and cookie/ad preferences, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the rights to access, portability, deletion, and to object to certain processing.
Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions use rotating refresh tokens, transport is encrypted, and access to age-restricted content is gated by verified date of birth.
